Review Guidelines for Peer Reviewers

Responsibilities: Peer reviewers provide constructive feedback by evaluating manuscripts within their expertise. They highlight strengths and weaknesses, suggest improvements, and assess the manuscript's relevance and originality.

Before Reviewing:

  • Expertise: Ensure the article matches your field. Inform the editor if it does not and suggest an alternative reviewer.
  • Time: Complete the review within two weeks. Notify the editor if you need more time or cannot meet the deadline.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts to the editor before reviewing.

Review Process:

Title and Abstract:

  • Title: Does it clearly reflect the content?
  • Abstract: Does it accurately summarize the article?

Introduction:

  • Context and Objectives: Does it explain the research background and clearly state the research question, hypothesis, and methods?

Content Evaluation:

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Ensure originality and check for plagiarism. Use tools like Scopus for quick literature searches.
  • Novelty and Contribution: Is the article innovative, detailed, and relevant? Does it add to the field's knowledge and adhere to the journal's standards?
  • Scope: Is it aligned with the journal's aims?

Methods:

  • Detail and Accuracy: Are data collection methods, theoretical foundations, and references adequately described? Is there enough detail for replication?
  • New Methods: Are new methods well-explained? Is sampling appropriate? Are tools and materials described clearly?

Results:

  • Clarity and Logic: Are findings presented clearly and logically? Was appropriate analysis conducted using suitable statistical tools?

Discussion and Conclusion:

  • Support and Comparison: Are claims supported by results? Does the author compare findings with previous studies? Are conclusions reasonable and do they suggest future research directions?

Tables and Figures:

  • Relevance and Clarity: Do they appropriately illustrate the data, making it easy to understand?

Perspective:

Unique perspectives that illustrate experiences and situations related to land and legal issues, including land ownership, land use rights, land certification, land dispute resolution, and related policies and regulations.

Original Research:

Original Data and Testing: Must present data offering new approaches to improve systems, processes, and the accuracy of tools used in land management and legal practices.

Policy Research and Observational Analysis: Must explain the feasibility, effectiveness, and implementation of research findings. Focus on topics such as land mapping, land registration, certificate renewal, and the effectiveness of land and legal policies.

Practical Application (Case Studies):

Papers should describe real-life situations concerning future challenges in land management and legal practices. This includes issues like land ownership conflicts, agrarian reform, dispute resolution through mediation or litigation, and the impact of new regulations on land practices. Conclusions should highlight the lessons learned from these cases.
